Here are some of our productions:
- The making of the Wright Brothers Sculpture:
Renown artist and sculptor Stephen Smith produced an amazing sculpture for the State of North Carolina and the US Parks Service that depicted the moment of the first flight. We've all seen the photo taken by John Daniels of the Wright flyer taking off with Orville at the controls and Wilber running along beside. Steven re-created this in bronze and stainless steel. It was done in a way that invites the viewer to interact with the sculpture. The viewers can feel as if they are part of the sculpture.
RBS partnered with Sugar Free Productions and was allowed to follow the artist from beginning to end in the creation of this magnificent piece of artwork. We created a documentary of that is to be placed in the National Archives for historical purposes.
See part of it at this link. The Making of the Wright Brothers Sculpture
- The Anatomy of a Fly-in:
The Mid-Atlantic Fly-in and Sport Aviation Convention had it's inaugural event in May of 2004. RBS was there to document and produce a "promotional" piece for the event managers. We shot the entire event and and interviewed some of the dignitaries for the final piece. You can see some clips of it here: The Anatomy of a Fly-in
- The 48Hr Film Festival:
RBS again partnered with Sugar Free Productions to compete in the National Contest to write, create, shoot, edit and produce a final short film feature in 48 hours. It took a crew of 30-40 actors, technicians, musicians and writers to complete the project. When it was all done we came away with best musical score for our city's event. We shot the entire project in Greensboro, NC and it was great fun. We would love to show you some clips of the piece, but due to copywright issues for the contest we can't at this time. However, when it's available we will put a link here.
- RBS and Sugar Free Productions are again partnered to do a documentary on the North Shore Road in the mountains of NC. The film is about the struggle in which the people in the NC Mountains have been trying for over 60 years to get a road built that was promised them by the US Government. The road was to be used to get to the graves of their loved ones that were isolated from them with the building of Fontanna Dam. We will add clips as we go along.
